Military Nursing Service (MNS)

Military Nursing Service (MNS) is a Short Service Commissioned Officer Post in the Indian Army. Short Service Commission means to serve it for a few years. And MNS is a fantastic opportunity for women and girls who want to work as nursing officers in the Indian Army. Candidates and aspirants who are female and preparing for the Military Nursing Service should be aware of the requirements and selection process. Female candidates should strictly adhere to the requirements and process because the Indian Army is very strict and disciplined about its rules and protocols. Female candidates who have passed their B.Sc. in nursing, Post Basic (PB) B.Sc. in nursing, and M.Sc. exams are eligible for a short service commission in the military nursing service (Nursing).

The Military Nursing Service’s mission is to offer medical care to hospitalized soldiers and their dependents in both peaceful and hostile environments. Girls who want to care for sick soldiers as nurses will find the life of an MNS nurse to be quite demanding and satisfying. As they progress through the services, they are also ranked and promoted.

A Brief About MNS Exam:

  • Only female applicants are eligible to apply for the MNS course.
  • An applicant must be an Indian national to apply for the MNS course.
  • The applicants must not be born earlier to 1st October 1995 and not later than 30th September 2003.
  • The applicants must have cleared 12th with Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany or Zoology) and English from recognized Board scoring minimum 50% marks.
  • Candidates who are appearing in the final year of their Higher Secondary can also apply for the Military Nursing Service in Dehradun. Candidates must also provide their passing certificate before the commencement of their training period.
  • As far as the physical standards are concerned, the minimum height of the applicants must be 152 cm. Candidates get relaxation in some situations (in case of the applicants who hill areas, the height will be considered up to 148 cm).
